James Ferguson

FOUNDER & head coach

Exercise Physiologist, SPort scientist

As the founder and driving force behind Performance Playground, James lives and breathes the values that shape our community. Whether it's coaching, hyping you up, or training alongside you - nothing fires him up more than seeing you crush your goals!

With a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and a passion for athletic performance, he draws inspiration from Gymnastics, Weightlifting, and Functional Fitness to help you look, feel, and move like an athlete...whilst unlocking epic skills along the way!

Outside of coaching, you’ll catch James throwing down at crossfit comps, hitting the Balmoral boardwalk with Nic and Milo, or chasing the sunshine at any opportunity (even in the middle of Winter).

 

Louis FitzSimons

MOVEMent & performance coach

Personal trainer

Louis is an entertainer at heart, blending play and professionalism in every session at Performance Playground.

He first stepped through our doors as a brand-new Personal Training graduate and member of the gym, before completing our internship program - and he’s been helping members smash epic goals for over five years at PP!

A film fanatic, heavy lifter, and calisthenics enthusiast, Louis brings energy, creativity, and a love for movement that keeps training as fun as it is effective.

 

Laura Holmes

INJURY REHAB SPECIALIST

EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST, sport scientist

From flipping on the gymnastics floor to helping others flip their health around, Laura has spent her life immersed in movement.

A former National-level gymnast turned Clinical Exercise Physiologist, she combines elite sport insight with science-backed rehabilitation to help people move confidently, recover with strength, and enjoy an active life at any age.

With a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science, a Master’s in Clinical Exercise Physiology, and over six years of coaching experience, her passions include women’s health, bone health, and biomechanics — but above all, she loves supporting people of all ages, abilities, and goals.
